Mighty antlers

Male moose have large antlers that can span over 1.5 meters. They shed them every winter and grow new ones in spring. Antler size is used to impress females and intimidate rivals. The larger the antlers, the more respected the moose is in the forest.

Swimming champions of the forest

Moose are excellent swimmers and love water. They can swim several kilometers and even dive underwater. Aquatic plants are an important part of their diet. During summer, they often cool off in lakes to avoid heat and insects.

Our moose

Saga

Saga is our large and composed leader. She makes decisions within the group, but does so with calm authority. She is a fantastic mother, both to her own calves and to others’. In summer, you can often see multiple calves trying to nurse from her – and she lets them. She loves potatoes and is almost always the first to approach the wagons.

Tackis

Despite being the smallest cow in the enclosure, Tackis has a big personality. She is calm, steady, and always ensures her calves are well cared for – but she’s no surrogate mother. Other calves must keep their distance! Despite her small size, she holds a high rank in the herd and isn’t easily pushed aside. She has one weakness – potatoes.

Sol

Sol is Saga’s daughter and has inherited her mother’s calm demeanor. She was very small as a calf but has grown to catch up with the others. Sol is a bit more independent and sometimes wanders off on her own adventures within the park.

Frigg

If you see a moose walking alone a little away from the group, it’s probably Frigg exploring the world. She is very social and will gladly approach the wagons to be petted. Frigg is lively and playful – if you see a moose suddenly jumping around, it’s likely Frigg chasing a butterfly!

Oskar

Oskar is the park's big bull. He arrived at age three and took his time settling in, but is now a fully accepted member of the group. Oskar loves potatoes and cuddles and is one of the most curious moose when the wagons arrive. Big, gentle, always relaxed – and particularly fond of our female guides.. whom he likes to charm a bit extra.

Hugin

Hugin is a calm, easygoing bull who doesn’t need to assert his dominance. He enjoys being scratched rather than showing off. Like Munin, he had a wild teenage streak, but he has grown up and is now as relaxed as ever.

Munin

Munin likes to show off! He proudly displays his antlers and tends to make more of a fuss than his laid-back brother, Hugin. Once a mischievous adolescent, he is now more mature, though he still loves the spotlight.

Allsvin

Munin likes to show off! He proudly displays his antlers and tends to make more of a fuss than his laid-back brother, Hugin. Once a mischievous adolescent, he is now more mature, though he still loves the spotlight.

Allvacker

Allvacker is more thoughtful than her brother Allsvin, yet just as outgoing. She is often among the first to approach when food is around and is already very tame and confident around humans.
